Xiu Xiu ( SHOO-shoo) is an American experimental rock band, formed in 2002 by singer-songwriter Jamie Stewart in San Jose, California. Currently, the line-up consists of multi-instrumentalists Stewart (the only constant member since formation), Angela Seo, and percussionist David Kendrick. The band's name comes from the film Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl, which has influenced the sound of their music, according to Stewart.

"...This evening Xiu Xiu deliver a dissonant take on Badalamenti's themes."
"The course stays focused for some time longer, but then things suddenly go wayward."
"between the howls of distortion and the unsettling beats are resolutions so sweet and obvious they ache of innocence lost."
“But, aside from that – potentially completely false – need to escape this band.”
Experimental popsters stay political
“I did not think it was genetically possible for there to be someone who was stupider or more terrifying than George Bush, but there is, and it is entirely likely that [Romney] will be the next president. I do not have a lot of hope for the future of the United States, or its role in the world; it’s very, very frightening times.”
The band play the east coast capitals and Perth when they are out here again.
Going nowhere?
