New: Pond - Elvis' Flaming Star
The WA psych-rockers go Ziggy Stardust on us, and announce a new album.. One of the most prolific outfits to ever come out of Australia, let alone WA, Pond have announced details for their upcoming sixth studio album, born from the group and a parade of friends taking a couple months worth of mountains of tape stitched together to form Man It Feels Like Space Again. The LP will live up to its wonder-filled title with a collection of warm and fuzzy psychedelic gems, some kind of cosmic mish-mash of The Flaming Lips, MGMT and Supergrass, starting with the single you can listen to/watch below - Elvis' Flaming Star. It drops the heavier-rock vibes we got from their previous album, with an almost '70s-glam-Bowie era rock-pop, that's pretty awesome. They're on tour in the US at the moment, but you can catch them at St Jerome's Laneway Festival NEXT YEAR, just after the new album drops on January 23. Follow Pond: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD

Video: HAMJAM - Love
The EP's out, it's time to go to the beach and launch it with some shows.. You've probably seen us bleeting on about HAMJAM a lot this past week or so, but we feel it's for good reason. Last week saw the release of their debut self-titled EP, featuring the first single Love - go on, buy it HERE. What we're really loving though is the video clip for Love, filmed by Tame Impala/POND guru Matt Sav, filmed on location at one of WA's famously sandy beaches... We can't stop laughing at the clip, we can't stop singing the songs, and we're looking forward to the band launching the EP with a few special shows next month - check the dates after marvelling at the video clip below. HAMJAM EP LAUNCH SHOWS:  Sat 1 Nov // Mojos Bar, North Fremantle, WA w/ Aborted Tortoise, Kitchen People + Ben Witt (TICKETS ON DOOR) Mon 1 Dec // Monday Night Mass @ Northcote Social Club, Melbourne, VIC w/ Peter Bibby + guests (FREE) ADDITIONAL SHOWS: Sat 8 Nov // WAM Festival Saturday Spectacular, Northbridge, WA w/

Live Review: Pond, AAA Ardvark Getdown Services, Felicity Groom, The Silents
In actuality, the venue was probably quite small and intimate, but with the way the band played, and the way their adoring onlookers responded, they may as well have been playing Wembley Stadium, the way the vibe was going, the wit was being thrown around and the music was flooding out of those amps.

"I always just imagined doing a fun, MGMT-ish, Mighty Boosh-ish sort of thing – because I love The Mighty Boosh."

Live Review: Pond, Doctopus, Mangelwurzel
It takes Fantastic Explosions Of Time for the crowd to start bouncing and the front rows recklessly moshing and crowd surfing with wild abandon.

"It was surprising the extent to which the set's highlights were its softer moments."

They're a band worth keeping an eye on.

Live Review: Pond, Doctopus, Leure
They welcomed Tame Impala frontman and part-time POND member Kevin Parker to play glockenspiel alongside members of Doctopus, and of course, Green Man, capping off the show with an electrifying version of Midnight Mass.

POND Text Interview
We managed a quick chat with POND before they boarded a plane last week.. Last week we managed to get a bit of time with Shiny Joe Ryan from POND before he jumped on a plane to go to the ARIAs. A far cry from POND's humble beginnings around the various backyard sheds of Fremantle. Unfortunately we didn't get a hell of a lot of time with him, but we learnt about their plans for next year, which sound rather exciting. You can catch POND at one of the following dates, and at Southbound/Falls Festival next year.
