The Bellrays (also capitalized as The BellRays) is an American rock group that combines garage rock and punk with soul music, founded in Riverside, California in 1990 by vocalist Lisa Kekaula and guitarist Bob Vennum. They have been with several independent labels, including Upper Cut, Poptones, Alternative Tentacles, Bittersweet, Shock, Cheap Lullaby, Vicious Circle, Vital Gesture and Anodyne.

With Black Lightning the band continue to do what they do best, creating a sonic cocktail of high octane, rockin’ and soulful tunes that were made to be listened to at full blast with a frosty pint in hand.
The band’s unique and soulful take on speed-driven Californian punk rock is still as exciting as it always was.
Perhaps that’s just the power of this great band, and as the lights come on it’s not surprising at all to find the room full of smiling faces.
